Colin Hopper at University College London Hospital is the only clinician in the UK who offers PD for deeper cancers that would otherwise require surgery. He did offer PDT with a drug called Foscan until NHS England removed the funding for the drug. The decision is, in our opinion, a scandal. To make such a decision without ever approaching Colin for his thoughts was a crass decision.

There is a new PDT trial for advanced head and neck cancers being run by Colin. It is a trial funded by a Scandinavian company, PCI.
